Best Candidates

Men and women who are at or close to their ideal weight are the best candidates. They are health conscious and exercise regularly. They are looking for that extra definition that the exercise is not giving them. There is no age limitation. Patients who have had prior surgeries such as a C section, abdominoplasty or liposuction, will have scar tissue that may make the contractions more uncomfortable than usual. These candidates can be treated as long as they are fully healed and have complete feeling in the treatment area.

 

 

The following conditions exclude a candidate from EMS Muscle Stimulator:

  • pregnancy

  • cardiac pacemakers

  • implanted defibrillators, implanted neurostimulators

  • electronic implants

  • pulmonary insufficiency

  • metal implants

  • drug pumps

  • hemorrhagic conditions

  • heart disorders

  • malignant tumor

  • fever

  • metallic IUD

  • epilepsy

 

Although the treatment may be performed on patients with higher BMI’s and muscles may still be strengthened, fat will cover the muscle definition.

How It Works

EMS utilizes High-Intensity Technology to cause deep muscle stimulation. A single Emsculpt session induces 20,000 muscle contractions. All this is done without any effort on your part. Emsculpt is basically a mini MRI machine that uses therapeutic levels of magnetic fields.

The treatment does not require anesthesia. Strong muscle response is essential to maximize treatment results. During the application, you will feel intense but tolerable muscle contractions in the treated area. The EMS induces several thousand muscle contractions with little to no effort on your part.

There are certain risks associated with Emsculpt treatments. They include but are not limited to muscular pain, temporary muscle spasm, temporary joint or tendon pain, local erythema or skin redness and intramuscular fat decrease. The treatment over injured or otherwise impaired muscles is contraindicated.
